CONTOU-ME UM PASSARINHO/ A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME

Contou-me que dos seis conjuntos de lençóis que deixei em Olhão dois já foram aconchegar uma coisinha pequenina e os outros estão quase quase.. Notícia boa.......... Foi-me prometida a foto da entrega para os próximos dias. Assim que a receber, coloco-a logo aqui. À minha criança interior apetece bater palmas.... Fico tão contente porque ainda moramos juntas. Quero ser velhinha e  sentir que ela ainda lá mora,  bem lá dentro de mim.

Entretanto e porque também sou adulta  e comportada  lá vou fazendo, de maneira disciplinada ( não garanto até quando) o lençol de cima, o de baixo e a fronha, para que não chegue ao final só com lençóis de cima. Ai mas é tão chato ver o lençol todo branco.. Apetece-me logo enfeitá-lo :-) .

Disciplina menina, disciplina, diz o meu Grilo Falante.

A little bird told me that  from the 6  sets of baby sheets I left in Olhão, two have already a tiny  very special owner and the other four are just about to leave. I was promised to get a photo within a few days. The moment I get it/them I will share them with you. My inner child is jumping and clapping. I am so glad that she still lives in my heart  ( or my soul?? Whatever). I wish I can grow old knowing that I always will find her there.

In the meantime and  also because I am also a grown up  person I am now making the whole set at the same time. The  hard is  to  look  and see soooooooo much white... immediately I start thinking that there is a ribbon, fabric, bow  or  any other thing that would look great on it.   And my little cricket says ...Discipline my dear, discipline.

AMANHÃ É SABADO!! YUPEE, TOMORROW IS SATURDAY

 Quando não vou ao Alentejo, sábado significa  retemperar forças,  começando no geral  com um passeio à beira mar logo pela manhã, antes que o som do mar e das gaivotas seja abafado pelo som humano, geralmente com decibéis a mais ...

Espectáculo! Eu, o sol, o mar, as gaivotas, alguns "madrugadores" desfrutando como eu  e  num abrir e fechar de olhos estão cerca de 5 kms feitos, passo a passo,  ouvindo o ranger da areia debaixo dos pés, diluindo em cada passo os momentos menos bons da semana. Sou mesmo afortunada!

Depois vêm as tarefas que  têm que se feitas e a única coisa que posso evitar é falar delas, pelo que passo à frente.

Depois vem o meu rebuçado que são as horas de calor  onde  não faço a mínima porquê :-)))))) arranjo sempre maneira de ter os dedinhos ocupados. Amanhã vou começar a cortar a segunda peça de algodão porque tenho tido donativos de bocadinhos de tecido, fitas, rendas, etc.  a que há que dar destino.  Se não tivesse ainda uma série de coisas para fazer, ia já dormir só para que o sábado  chegue mais cedo. Até amanhã. 

When I am not going to Alentejo, Saturday means, usually, a breath of life, starting with a walk along the beach, early in the morning, before the sound of the sea and the  seagulls  disappear under the sound of human voice, usually with a few levels higher than wanted. Awesome!

Am I lucky or what? let's see ... me, the sun, the sea, the unavoidable seagulls who do not care about me,  a few "early birds" such as me, just paying attention to the sound of the sand under my feet. On a vapt vupt there are 5 kms already walked and the week tension or bad moments have disappeared. Am I lucky? Of Course!!!!!

Than it is time to do other things. As I cannot avoid doing them , at least I avoid talking about them so let us move forward.  

Than comes one of the best parts of my weekend, when these ten little elfs find something to do. Tomorrow I will be cutting the other piece of cotton I  was given as I also have a few  donations of ribbons, lace, fabric, etc. and they belong together :-)). If there was not yet  a few things to do before going to bed, I would do it just to have Saturday coming sooner. 'Till tomorrow.

E LÁ FORAM / THERE THEY WENT

Embora eu e a representante da instituição tenhamos andado desencontradas apesar das tecnologias o que, confesso, me frustrou um bocado, o certo é que  por Olhão ficaram os seis conjuntinhos de lençóis. Presumo que já foram entregues na Instituição, situação da qual ainda não tive qualquer informação quer de quem ficou de os entregar quer de quem os terá recebido. Enfim. Conta o objectivo final que é  alguém pequenino poder dormir entre os lençóis que algumas pessoas  com muito carinho prepararam para ele ou ela.

Although both me and the representative of the institution receiving the baby sets had problems on being at the same time on the same place despite all the technology availabe, which I have to confess  made me feel frustrated, the fact is that I left  the six sets  in Olhão and were, or will be delivered at the institution. The reason of my lack of certainity  is that , so far, I had no indication of that having occurred  neither by who accepted to keep them on Sunday  and deliver them or from who was suposed to receive them. Anyway. What realy counts is that a tiny person will be sleeping in sheets that a few of us have with a lot of love prepared to him or her. That is our ultimate goal.

 

 

ENTREGA/DELIVERY

Terminado o pesadelo das fronhas , grrrr, amanhã vou entregar  6 conjuntinhos.  Não há foto ainda porque é uma entrega informal, durante o fim-de-semana, mas ainda hoje colcoarei a foto daqueles 6 conjuntinhos que vão aninhar uma cosinha pequenina já já. Sei que há dois casais à espera dos conjuntinhos, pelo que teremos que deixar a foto oficial da entrega para mais tarde, quando "o grosso" da coluna for entregue à Instituição. Na feira da minha terrinha uma amiga minha ganhou um gorro de criança, tricotado numa qualquer noite fresquinha por ums mãos amorosas. Entusiasmei-me e fui por mais dois. Como nestas coisas a minha sorte é muito relativa, ganhei uma pulseira e um pano de louça, o qual, explicada a razão pela qual fiquei muito desapontada por não ganhar um gorro em pleno Agosto, foi gentilmente trocado pelo dito cujo. Assim que, amanhã, para além dos lençóis, irei entregar também dois gorros de bebé e uns cobertores que alguém me deu numa das pedinchas de anos anteriores. Estou feliz.

Having finally concluded the nightmare of the pillow cases ( believe me, I almost had dreams with pillow cases with big mouths swallowing me with no mercy  :-)   tomorrow I will deliver 6 sets of baby sheets. There will be no officialphoto yet  because it is a casual delivery, caught between a lunch and a dinner of two persons with a busy life. But I will put here the photo of the 6 sets prior their delivery, probably later today or tonight. The official photo will taken with the remaining of the delivery.

Last weekend, while on the fair back on my little village on the unbelievable hot Alentejo, i have got as gift from a  friend a little cap she won on a kind of tombola. Going there myself and with my usualy luck I managed to get a bracelet and a dish cloth who kindly was exchanegd by the most wanted cap, after the explanation why I feld so miserable when preferring a  wool cap in   August instead of  getting the table cloth... :-).

Therefore, tomorrow I will deliver the 6 sets of baby sheets, two caps for the cold days and two baby blankets someone gave me on previous donations. I'm happy.

CÁ ESTOU / i'M BACK

Cheguei ao meu cantinho. Que bom. Não há lugar como a nossa casa, mesmo que o sítio de onde se vem, seja a casa onde vivemos durante muito tempo. Estou com os sonos trocados e olheiras até aos joelhos. Mas gostei como sempre. Gostei da empatia que sempre se estabelece com os vizinhos de tenda, do "olá, há tanto tempo que não te via" , de ouvir as andorinhas nos beirais da igreja. Só podia ter gostado mais do resultado em "pilim", aquela coisa que, como se diz na minha terrinha de onde acabei de chegar, "se compram os melões". Enfim.   Não se  pode ter tudo. Artesanato numa altura destas? material e gasóleo? se calhar deveria ter ficado quieta. No ano que vem logo vejo o que faço. Agora já está. Mais tarde  logo coloco   no Pontos & Nós  as fotos que tirei pelo telemóvel pois a máquina  fotográfica ficou cá. Daaaaaaaa..... típico meu.

I'm back. Feel so good. Indeed there is no place like home, although the place where you are coming from is the home you had for quite a few years before. My sleeping hours are a little bit confused and  the dark circles  under my eyes almost reach my knees :-).  But I enjoyed it a lot. The empathy  established among the  tent neighbours. the "hi, long time do not see you", the   songs of the swallows  community nesting at  the church roof etc. It should be also rewarding in the cash result. No. It wasn't. Anyway. Next year will be better if there  will be next year. I will show some of the photos later on my other Blog, Pontos & Nós. Just  Mobile photos because I forgot the camera here. That is me. What else is new?

INTERREGNO / INTERREGNUM

É preciso. Apesar de nunca estar a fazer só uma coisa, o facto é que  aquilo que faço tento que seja o melhor possível, aplicando nesse trabalho e nesse momento, toda a minha atenção.  Lá dizia Fernando Pessoa "... põe quanto és no mínimo que fazes..."

Acontece que a minha "feirinha" está à porta e os trabalhos que quero levar necessitam de tempo para ser feitos, uma vez que a maioria têm etapas.

Posto isto, faço no Tricot uma pausa de uma semana, pelo menos em trabalhos, e volto  a 100%  num piscar de olhos. Até porque agora a tarefa  são as fronhas que , de todo, não estimulam nada a minha criatividade. Enfim, o que tem que ser tem muita força. Mas só daqui a uma semana.

It must. Although is a fact that I always will be dealing with a few works at the same time, is also a fact that while doing each one it takes my full attention. One of my dearest writers/poet  Fernando Pessoa has a poem I love and which I "follow" as much as I can. Said poem says ....

Para ser grande, sê inteiro: nada
Teu exagera ou exclui.
Sê todo em cada coisa. Põe quanto és
No mínimo que fazes.
Assim em cada lago a lua toda
Brilha, porque alta vive.

The two phrases I quote now are  "Sê todo em cada coisa. Põe quanto és no mínimo que fazes" which  I understand as meaning that we should always give our best in everything we do. So I try it. Every day.

Therefore and as the works for the craft fair I will attend next weekend require my complete attention, this project will stay on hold for a tiny, tiny week. 

DECIDIDO/DECIDED

Está definitivamente escolhida a instituição que vai receber os lençóis. E vai ser em Olhão. Só não digo o nome ainda porque posso estar a identificar a instituição de forma errada e não quero isso. Contudo, a conversa que tive hoje  leva-me a pensar que teremos iniciado as fundações para uma boa parceria. A ver vamos. Certo certo é que este lençóis vão cair "como sopa no mel" , pois há bebés a chegar..... 

Definitively chosen the institution who the baby sheets will be given to. It is placed at Olhão, here in the Algarve. Is just missing the indication of the name but, during the conversation I had this afternoon with the person responsible, I forgot to confirm the name of it. It seems to me from  a nice conversation I had this afternoon with the person in charge  that  a healthy partnership has just began. What I know for sure is that a few babies are about to be given to this crazy world so these sheets will be quite welcome.
